Here it is at last: the twisted hazel with purple foliage! This novelty combines the charm of the twisted hazel with the qualities of the foliage of the purple hazel.
'Red Majestic' has a good vegetation with similar characteristics as those of the Corylus avellana 'Contorta'; its height is about 2,00 m when fully grown.
The very purple colour of the foliage during the budding stage and the early spring diminishes during the summer to a greener shade depending on the position.
The flowers as catkins and the envelope of the fruit are also purple.

Uses
Being very ornemental throughout the year, 'Red Majestic' can very well be planted in bushy clumps or as hedges.
Sunny to half shaded position.
It doesn't need any trimming.
