Characteristics:
Obtained by INRA - Registered Plant.
This
is a semi-spreading tree, reaching a height of 3 to 4m after 10 years. It keeps
its shape, so therefore doesn't need pruning. Its leaves and branches are purple.
The purple-pink flowers blossom in April / May along the whole length of the branches,
and the purple crab apples are ready in autumn.
COCCINELLA
® has also been chosen by breeders for its
resistance to the major diseases such as fire blight, scab and mildew.
Uses:
Its ornamental
foliage, its medium size and its ease of maintenance (little need for treatment
or pruning), means that COCCINELLA ®
is ideal for specimens, if grown as a standard, or in rows, in towns or small
gardens; it can also be pollarded and used in mixed flowering hedges.
