Because of its large deep purple,
nearly black leaves, finely dissected this purple elder is really elegant . The
young shoots are green.
Height : 2,00 m - 3,00 m . Its growth is medium.
In June, BLACK LACE
is covered by pink flowers while in bud, getting paler at the opening stage to
become a creamy white.
In summer, the red fructification turning black are
very appreciated by birds.
Uses :
Being very ornemental for a big part of the year, BLACK LACE
can very well be planted in bushy clumps or as informal hedges.
Sunny to half
shaded position.
A regular yearly trimming enhances the foliage; for a good
show of flowers, trimming is advised in the early spring cutting out the old branches.
