Ulmus LUTECE ® 'Nanguen'

Characteristics:
Obtention: INRA / ALTERRA - European P.B.R.
This hybrid has been tested by INRA for over 20 years. It is the result of cross fertilization of six French, one English and one Chinese variety. It is resistant to the Dutch elm disease.
Its bark is smooth. The leaves are quite similar to the common elm tree: asymmetrical, rough and have a dark green colour. The foliage is dense.
Its slender trunk gives LUTECE ® a perfect aptitude for a high-stem training; naturally it grows in a regular and homogeneous way. First tests show a very good attitude if grown in clumps.
The name of LUTÈCE ® was given to it in recognition of the help provided by Parks and Gardens Department of the city of Paris for having taken care of a field of experimentation in the Vincennes Park.

Uses:
LUTÈCE ® is perfectly adapted to be planted in lines or isolated; in a judicious association with other country plants it can also be included in traditional rural hedges.
