Ulmus
Ulmus minor  VADA ®  'Wanoux'

Characteristics:
Obtained by INRA / ALTERRA - European P.B.R.
Selected, tested and compared by INRA, notably since 1983 in a plantation in the Vincennes Forest near Paris, this selection of elm shows a very good resistance to the Dutch Elm Disease and this without suffering damages due to other agents like insects, pathogenic fungi or summer drought.
Its shape is upright, rather slender and higher than the one of LUTECE ®.
Height: 15 m to 20 m as an adult tree.
The dark green rippled, toothed and well veined foliage is similar to the indigenous European trees.

Uses:
Can be grown in any type of soil, in sunny or half shade position; its narrow shape and its proven resistance to Dutch Elm Disease make the VADA ® an ideal tree, free standing or in rows.
It rounds off the list of other resistant cultivars to be selected for the plantation of rural mixed hedges in which it integrates well, due to its native aspect.
It can be cut back and pruned.
