range, already made up of Katia,
is now enriched by two new selections of large-flower
heathers, of low and covering shape : 'Tyann'
gained "The Heather Society's Premier Award"
of best introduction (in february 2011). This new heather
cultivar was showing the best attributes for garden planting.
It possesses all the qualities of the variety 'Kramer's Rote'
where it comes from: magnificent, slightly later red flowers,
a rounded and dense growth. Flowers of txice the size
give an impression of abundant flowering.
Hardy to -20°C, the Erica x darleyensis winter heathers
prefer acid soils, but tolerate neutral soils. A sunny
or semi-shady position suits them best for an optimal

shows pretty white bells by October; Lucie
is remarkable for its magnificent good-sized violet-red
flowers, a dark foliage and round bushy shape; and compact
spreads its salmon-pink flowering over a long period.
Together with these three varieties, the new selections
allow an extension of a winter heather beds
flowering, while bringing interesting colour shades in
both flowers and foliages.
