Characteristics:
Co-obtained by INRA / SAPHINOV - European P.B.R.
The new creation, Double Rose
'Cleminov29' enlarges the SAPHYRA ®
range, which already includes Indigo
'Cleminov51'. Double Rose has similar characteristics, being a well branched,
bushy plant that will climb given support and has abundant foliage.
Height:
0.80m to 1.00m. Spread: 0.60 m to 0.80 m.
In June the plant is covered with
clouds of two-tone pink, star-shaped flowers, which are more than 10cm in diameter.
The petals are soft pink with a deeper pink line down the middle. The stamens
are also deep pink. This variety flowers a second time, less abundantly, in September.
Use:
SAPHYRA
® Double Rose is hardy and prefers a position
in full sun or semi-shade. Plant with support, against a low wall or in a pot.
Alternatively it can be grown unsupported as groundcover. The two-tone pink flowers
make an attractive contrast with the deep purple of sister plant Indigo.
Cut
back hard in early spring. To encourage a second flowering, trim lightly from
time to time.
