W. et J. de RUITER VASTGOED VOF - European P.B.R.
We have added 2 attractive, vigorous and rich-flowering passionflower varieties
to our range of climbers. The new selections are strong growers and are covered
in buds or flowers (each open bloom lasts 1 or 2 days) from April till early autumn.
As
its name suggests, 'Perfume Passion'
is a perfumed variety. The large flowers have a lemon scent and are quite typical
in shape and colour with dark mauve-pink petals.
The attractive, shiny, dark
green foliage is resistant to black spot.
This self-clinging climber is well
branched and of medium height.
Use:
Passionflowers need light whether they're planted inside or outside and should
be protected from the wind.
They prefer an acid soil which is moist but well-drained,
with regular watering at the roots. Winter protection is recommended.
Whether
in a pot or in the garden 'Perfume Passion'
will produce a succession of large flowers throughout the season.
Cut them
back in the spring, or before protecting for the winter, in order to keep the
plants a manageable size. Remove any weak growth and reduce the main stems to
less than a meter long.
