Cupressus sempervirens Gamme MISTRAL®
A range of cypress, coryneum resistant.
Description
Untrained, the plants in the MISTRAL ® Range can attain a height of 25 - 30 meters. The growth is mostly semi-horizontal and upright, with a good wind-permeability. 'Agrimed 1' is compact and fastigiate, 'Antain' has a wider habit.
The voluntary choice of two clones in the same hedge gives a consistent look, a slight variation in the colour of the foliage, a better resistance to parasites; in the case of infection, it avoids the rapid spread which can occur with a single clone hedge.
Grafting on seed Cupressus sempervirens allows a perfect growth in dry, or high pH level areas.
Suitablefor windbreaks in natural or private spaces, or for boundary hedges, the two clones in the MISTRAL ® Range should be mixed for the best effectiveness.
Care
Cut lightly in spring (1 year old wood).
Range
These two clones of the MISTRAL ® range have been selected for their resistance to Seiridium cardinale (Coryneum canker) as well as for their growth which is suitable for Mediterranean hedges.
'Antain' is a selection by INRA Antibes, 'Agrimed 1' is jointly registered by INRA, CNR (Italy) and FRI (Greece).
