Lavatera BLUE BIRD® 'Renlav'
A lavatera of surprising colours!
This new variety of small, shrub-like shape and grey-green foliage survives the winter well.
From the beginning of June and for nearly two months, it is remarkable for its pretty flower heads with pale lilac petals, delicately veined with a darker purple. In favourable conditions, the flowering lasts until the end of summer.
BLUE BIRD® adds an original note to shrub borders and flowering hedges because of the surprising colour of its flowers and by the tint and quality of its leaves all year long.

Use :
Shrub borders and flowering hedges.
Type of soil :
Light, well drained, rather rich soil.
Care :
In summer, cut back the extremities of the stems (20 - 30 cm) with the wilted flowers, in order to stimulate shoots with new flowers.
Cut back hard in March to strengthen the plant and to avoid it growing to big. Avoid autumn pruning, as there is a risk that the roots might rot.
