Like all Hibiscus moscheutos, the part which is above ground dies off with the first frost, but new shoots grow from the base in spring (April-May). They reach maximum height in summer when their magnificent flowering starts. From June - July to September, the short lived flowers renew themselves every two to three days.
In the PLANET ® series with its specific qualities, 'Griotte' offers a great show with these large, early, cherry-coloured flowers.
It has crimson purple foliage, even when there are no flowers.
Cut the dead wood during the winter. Do not let the plant dry out during the summer.

The PLANET ® series has been specially selected by the FLEURS DU SUD nursery. Two novelties have been added to its program by SAPHO in 2013 : PLANET ® Griotte ‘TANGRI’ and PLANET ® Solène ‘TANSOL’.
These new plant varieties have been chosen firstly for their precocity and the duration of the flowering period: they are more suited for temperate summers.
Parallel to these criterias, the originality of the colouring, the transparency of the flowers playing with sunlight, the quality of the foliage, good branching out and resistance to the cold, are equally relevant.
