A look back at images of Sapho's 50th anniversary at the Salon du Végétal

50 years, the ideal age to remember the beautiful story of Sapho. We chose the Salon du Végétal, the place where the entire industry comes together, to celebrate this event with you. Take a look back at these three emotionally-charged days!

50 candles to blow out!

Many of you were there. Thank you very much!

On the first day of the Salon du Végétal, September 10, 2024, we invited you to our special event, an opportunity for us to look back on 50 years of plant innovation, our good-natured plants and our vision of the profession of plant publisher. We were delighted to see the many people who have taken part in this adventure.

Gérard Dupont, Sapho's first managing director, paid tribute to Robert Minier and all nurserymen, whatever their size or region, who have joined forces for the future of the industry. Alain Cadic, who has devoted his professional life to ornamental research at INRAE, told us about “going to work with bananas”, so passionate was he about his profession. It was a real moment of emotional sharing!

Our catalog book: a truly appreciated gift!

We wanted to share with you, on paper, our words, our convictions, what drives us, not forgetting our catalog of over 300 good-natured plants. The result is a 228-page book which we were delighted to offer to all participants, and which was a truly wonderful gift.

Our stand

Accompanied by their emblematic plants, the garden scenes depicted in the book were in large format. Make the wall, Cultures, culture, Embellish life, Déjeuner sur l'herbe... beautiful landscape inspirations!

Gold at the Innovert Concours

On the Innovert podium, Hubert Dupont, manager of Sapho, received the gold trophy from Marie Levaux, president of VERDIR, for our new Agapanthus africanus NINA^® White 'MONSAPHO' in the Plant Innovation category. You'll appreciate its remarkable qualities: ultra-compact, highly floriferous, right from the first year!

Also worth noting: Actinidia 'HERMA', a large-fruited, self-fertilizing kiwi, was nominated by the jury.

Happiness is in the garden: the magical power of plants!

The organizers of the Salon du Végétal offered us the opportunity to create one of the ten Cœur Végétal mini-gardens for our 50th anniversary. We were given carte blanche, and naturally chose “Happiness is in the garden: the magical power of plants” as our theme.
